The Heidestra\u00dfe (district road 1142) near Colbitz will be closed to road users from Sunday, January 19, 2025, from 6 am until Wednesday, January 22, until around 2 pm. The Army Combat Training Center has announced this. The reason is a military exercise. <\/p>\n\n

In the first exercise of the new year, J\u00e4ger Battalion 91 from Rothenburg (W\u00fcmme) in Lower Saxony will be practising tactical principles and procedures in the Colbitz-Letzlinger Heide. The aim was also to improve the fighting style of the so-called Mittlerer Kr\u00e4fte. The Medium Forces are units “that are mobile on wheels, highly mobile and can be deployed throughout NATO’s European theater of operations without long preparation times. They drive and fight on wheels,” according to the press office of the Army Combat Training Center. In addition, the medium forces can deploy large numbers of personnel and powerful weapons thanks to their armored wheeled vehicles. <\/p>\n\n

As vehicles will often have to cross Heidestra\u00dfe during the exercise, it will be closed. Access to H\u00fctten and the Planken troop camp will be possible from the direction of the Bundesstra\u00dfe 71. <\/p>\n\n
