Wolmirstedt’s mayor Marlies Cassuhn accepts invitation to shooting festival in twin town Wunstorf<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

Anyone who has never been to the Sch\u00fctzenfest in Wunstorf can hardly imagine how big the celebrations are. For three days, the town of around 41,000 inhabitants near the Steinhuder Meer is turned upside down. The shooting tradition is very important. It is also considered an honor to be invited to the Sunday civic breakfast. <\/p>\n\n

Wolmirstedt’s mayor Marlies Cassuhn therefore took up the invitation from her counterpart Carsten Piellusch from Wunstorf to attend the event. Julia Schneider, who is responsible for public relations and tourism at the town of Wolmirstedt, also made the trip. Wunstorf and Wolmirstedt have been twinned since 1990. Carsten Piellusch therefore warmly welcomed the Wolmirstedt mayor: \u201cI am delighted to welcome a very dear friend here,\u201d he emphasized in a speech at the Wunstorf shooting festival. <\/p>\n\n

It has not always been easy for the two twin towns to maintain intensive contact with each other over the past 35 years. But the good relations never broke down. The Wolmirstedt firefighters in particular are still in close contact with their Wunstorf colleagues – they visit each other and attend each other’s events. For example, Marlies Cassuhn was delighted to meet firefighter Stefan Klug from the twin town at the Wunstorf shooting festival, who proudly wore a Wolmirstedt fire department badge as flag bearer in the parade. <\/p>\n\n

\u201cWe look forward to making our contact more active again in the future,\u201d said Marlies Cassuhn with the approval of her counterpart and cordially invited Carsten Piellusch and his wife Stefanie to the annual reception of the town of Wolmirstedt on June 12.<\/p>\n\n
