City of Wolmirstedt has schools spruced up during the summer vacations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The summer vacations are in their final stages, pupils and teachers are still recovering before everyday life starts again for them soon. But Wolmirstedt’s schools are not resting in slumber until then. Quite the opposite: it looks like there is a lot of work to be done. This is because the town of Wolmirstedt has always had repair and renovation work carried out in its schools during the school vacations. <\/p>\n\n

At the “Johannes Gutenberg” all-day school, for example, there are currently several tradesmen working at the same time. On the sports field, employees from a specialist company are busy repairing cracks, gaps and unevenness on the tartan track. Some of the old surface is being cut out in whole pieces and the resulting gaps refilled. Previously, the synthetic surface on the fenced basketball and soccer pitch was also cleaned and small cracks filled. <\/p>\n\n

A staircase in the building will be completely painted. If possible, the locking systems on the interior doors of the entire school building will also be replaced during these vacations. However, if the company can no longer manage this, it will be done in the coming fall vacations. Two specialist rooms will also be completely renovated, from the ceiling to the electrics to the floor: The physics and chemistry rooms at Gutenberg School. However, these measures are being paid for by the B\u00f6rde district, which is responsible for the secondary school section of the all-day school. The town of Wolmirstedt is responsible for the primary school section. The district and town usually plan the necessary work hand in hand. <\/p>\n\n

The work that the city is currently having done will cost around 42,000 euros. A little more money will be invested next year. This is because work will then be necessary on the school playground: Sewage pipes will have to be relocated in accordance with federal regulations. In addition, toilets are to be rebuilt and extended. <\/p>\n\n

By the way: Minor repair work, including painting, is also being carried out at the Adolf-Diesterweg elementary school this summer.<\/p>\n\n
