50 books read during the summer vacation: Library and mayor award winners of the XXL reading summer<\/h2>\n\n

The Wolmirstedt City Library once again took part in the XXL Summer of Reading this year. Library manager Janina Freimann and her colleagues, the team from the Wolmirstedt library support association “Lesezauber” and Mayor Marlies Cassuhn invited guests to the town hall to mark the end of the vacation campaign. <\/p>\n\n

The award ceremony took place there. First, the children who had read the most books during the XXL reading summer were honored. Anny Charlotte Siegl came third with 32 books read, Jule Gro\u00dfe-Allermann read 37 books and came second and Mathilda Kraus came first, having read 50 books during the summer vacation. Three schools also received awards, as their pupils particularly shone with their reading achievements: Kurf\u00fcrst-Joachim-Friedrich-Gymnasium came third, Adolph-Diesterweg-Grundschule came second and Grundschule “Am Heiderand” Samswegen came first. <\/p>\n\n

A total of 345 children and young people registered for the Summer of Reading XXL in Wolmirstedt in 2025 – 50 more than in the previous year! 294 pupils successfully took part, 159 of them girls and 135 boys. Together they read 910 books. The most popular was the “Greg’s Diary” series, which was borrowed 77 times. <\/p>\n\n
