On Thursday, September 11, the district of B\u00f6rde is taking part in the annual nationwide warning day. The aim is to make the population aware of the warning tools available, which the authorities use to provide information about disasters in the event of an emergency. These include not only sirens and manual announcements, but also digital services. Warning apps, digital systems and other warning devices only work in an emergency if they are actively used by citizens. <\/p>\n\n

This year, the Cell-Broadcast service will once again be used to warn and inform the public. Cell-Broadcast can send warning messages to all mobile devices (smartphones and conventional cell phones) that are set up and ready to receive them and are located in a specific section of the mobile network. This means that all cell phones that are logged into a cell tower receive an automatic message, similar to an SMS. <\/p>\n\n

All 279 sirens in the B\u00f6rde district will sound on 11 September 2025 at 11:00 (all-clear at 11:45) to raise public awareness and to check the organizational and technical functionality of the warning systems. The Modular Warning System (MoWaS) will also be supplied with a test message from the national warning center. This service in turn supplies various warning applications for mobile devices, for example the warning apps NINA and KATWARN. <\/p>\n\n

The signal on September 11 at 11:00 am:<\/strong>A one-minute rising and falling wailing tone for the warning, “General Danger” in peacetime, the so-called<\/strong> peacetime, the so-called disaster alert or the air alert in case of defense.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The sirens are owned by the towns and municipalities and are maintained and serviced by them. The digital siren control receivers are provided by the district of B\u00f6rde. The sirens are controlled via the integrated control center of the district of B\u00f6rde, for example for emergency alerts based on an alarm and call-out order for the fire departments, which is issued by the municipalities belonging to the district. <\/p>\n\n
