Around 200 people sing together in the museum barn on Unity Day<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On the Day of German Unity, October 3, 2025, the town of Wolmirstedt took part in the Germany-wide campaign “October 3 – Germany sings and sounds” for the first time. As part of this, a community singing event was held in the museum barn, which was attended by around 200 Wolmirsted residents and guests from surrounding towns. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was organized by the town of Wolmirstedt with the help of the Glindenberg choir. Members of other choirs also took part. Eckehart Lindt gave a speech about his experiences as Wolmirstedt’s mayor after the political change. The singing was moderated by Helene Krause, a member of the OK Live ensemble. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It would be great if this could perhaps become a small tradition, because music connects us in a special way,” said Mayor Marlies Cassuhn, explaining her decision for the city to take part in the campaign. Ten songs specified by the campaign were sung, including “Bunt sind schon die W\u00e4lder”, “Wind of Change”, “Griechischer Wein” and “Bruder Jakob”. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The guests brought jam jars with tea lights. Candles were lit in all the communities that took part in the singing campaign in Germany to further strengthen the sense of community. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
