The Wolmirstedt town council has launched a heartfelt campaign: The town’s Christmas wish tree was officially opened on November 24. From now on, citizens and employees of the town hall can pick Christmas wishes from 27 children and young people from the Caritas women’s and children’s shelter, from the “Nomi Rubel-Haus” workers’ welfare housing project and from the “Houses of our Future” in Wolmirstedt. <\/p>\n\n

“We are delighted to be part of the first Christmas wish tree campaign in Wolmirstedt. For us, this means that disadvantaged children and young people in the town are also seen and thought of. These children and young people often have no one except the institution that gives them a small gift. Cell phones, game consoles or playhouses (e.g. from Schleich or Barbie) do not fit into the available budget. So we are grateful for every wish that can be fulfilled,” says Melanie Albrecht from the B\u00f6rde district association of the Workers’ Welfare Association, who runs the Nomi Rubel House in Wolmirstedt and other small homes for children and young people in the B\u00f6rde district.<\/p>\n\n

Citizens can pick up their wishes during the usual office hours at the town hall, namely Tuesdays from 9 to 11.30 am and 1.30 to 5.30 pm, Thursdays from 1.30 to 3.30 pm and Fridays from 9 to 11.30 am. The gift packages should be returned to the town hall by December 12 so that they can be handed over to the children and young people in time for Christmas. <\/p>\n\n
