Last day as mayor of Wolmirstedt<\/h2>\n\n

The Mayor of Wolmirstedt, Marlies Cassuhn, welcomed various guests to the town hall on her last day in office. She was bid farewell by companions who had accompanied her during her time in office and beyond. Marlies Cassuhn has worked in Wolmirstedt’s municipal administration for a total of 35 years. <\/p>\n\n

At the time, she was appointed as the head of the Schools, Culture and Sport Department. Gradually, Marlies Cassuhn was given more and more responsibilities: as Head of Office, she was initially given responsibility for the areas of youth, health and social affairs and eventually also the Public Order Office and the Building Authority. In 1999, Marlies Cassuhn also became deputy mayor of the town of Wolmirstedt and held this position – with a six-month break – until her own election as mayor in 2018. Until her actual retirement at the end of February, Marlies Cassuhn will now return to her roots for another three months or so and work as head of the Youth\/Culture\/Sport\/Social Affairs department. <\/p>\n\n

Her time as mayor will officially end on December 6, 2025, with the newly elected mayor Mike Steffens taking office on December 7. <\/p>\n\n

Marlies Cassuhn received many congratulations and gifts from her guests on leaving office. For example, Bert Knoblauch, Mayor of the town of Sch\u00f6nebeck\/Elbe, and his wife Susanne Knoblauch, who herself worked in Wolmirstedt town hall for many years, were present. Sabine Wendler, who was treasurer and deputy mayor of the town of Haldensleben before her own retirement, Frank Wichmann, managing director of the WWAZ association, planner Stefan Gro\u00dfmann, who is involved in projects such as the new stadium in Wolmirstedt, Wolmirstedt’s museum director Anette Pilz, Heike Wolter, acting chairwoman of the OK Live Ensemble, Benjamin Bender from “Agentur b” and others also offered their congratulations. <\/p>\n\n

All the heads of department of the Wolmirstedt city administration also said goodbye and thanked Marlies Cassuhn for her collegial cooperation over the years, as she had worked side by side with many of them for the good of the city even before her term of office as mayor.<\/p>\n\n
