Irmgard Grabengie\u00dfer from Wolmirstedt celebrated her 103rd birthday on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Wolmirstedt’s mayor took the opportunity to send her personal congratulations. “Today, as Mayor of Wolmirstedt, I was able to congratulate Mrs. Irmgard Grabengie\u00dfer on her 103rd birthday. Together with District Administrator Martin Stichnoth, I presented her with a gift basket and a certificate from the Minister President,” he reports. Mrs. Grabengie\u00dfer was born on 7 March 1923 in Asch in the Czech Republic and came to Wolmirstedt after her family was expelled in 1946, where she followed her husband, whom she had met in a military hospital. She led a full life here, raised her children and spent many years as a committed sportswoman and coach at SV Kali Wolmirstedt. To this day, she is full of zest for life, does early morning gymnastics every day, keeps her apartment in good shape and regularly watches sports programs on TV. “Over coffee and cake, we were able to hear exciting stories from her life,” reports the mayor, who also met her three daughters. <\/p>\n\n
