{"id":31226,"date":"2026-08-10T18:23:57","date_gmt":"2026-08-10T16:23:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stadtwolmirstedt.de\/notice-regarding-the-right-to-inspect-the-voter-registry\/"},"modified":"2026-08-10T18:25:24","modified_gmt":"2026-08-10T16:25:24","slug":"notice-regarding-the-right-to-inspect-the-voter-registry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stadtwolmirstedt.de\/en\/notice-regarding-the-right-to-inspect-the-voter-registry\/","title":{"rendered":"Announcement"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Regarding the Right to Inspect the Voter Registry and the Issuance of Voter Registration Cards for the State Parliament Election in Saxony-Anhalt on September 6, 2026<\/h2>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The voter registry for the state election in the city of Wolmirstedt <br\/>and the voting districts of the city of Wolmirstedt 001 through 010<br\/>will be available from August 17, 2026, through August 21, 2026<br\/>during regular office hours<br\/>Tuesday: 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.<br\/> 1:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.<br\/>Thursday 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.<br\/>Friday 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.<br\/>Location for review: Wolmirstedt Residents\u2019 Registration Office, August-Bebel-Str. 25, 39326 Wolmirstedt <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">made available for inspection by eligible voters. Every eligible voter may verify the accuracy or completeness of the information entered about them in the voter registry. If an eligible voter wishes to verify the accuracy or completeness of the data of other persons listed in the voter registry, they must provide credible evidence of facts that may indicate an inaccuracy or incompleteness in the voter registry. The right to verification does not apply to the information of eligible voters for whom a restriction note has been entered in the residents\u2019 register pursuant to Section 51(1) of the Federal Residents\u2019 Registration Act. The voter registry is maintained using an automated system.     <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Only those who are registered on the voter rolls or have a voter registration card may vote.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2. Anyone who believes the voter registry is incorrect or incomplete may, during the period from the 20th to the 16th day before the election\u2014no later than 11:30 a.m. on August 21, 2026\u2014 submit a request to the City of Wolmirstedt to correct the voter registry. The request may be submitted to the municipality in writing or verbally for the record. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">3. Voters who are registered on the voter roll will receive a notice of election no later than August 16, 2026.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anyone who has not received a voter notification but believes they are eligible to vote must file a request to correct the voter registry if they do not want to risk being unable to exercise their right to vote.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Voters who are entered in the voter registry only upon request and who have already applied for a voter registration card and absentee ballot materials will not receive a notice to vote.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">4. Anyone who has a ballot may vote in the Wolmirstedt (Constituency 8) election by casting a ballot at any polling place in that constituency or by mail.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">5. A ballot is issued upon request<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">5.1 A person eligible to vote who is registered on the voter registration list.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">5.2 a person eligible to vote who is not registered on the voter roll,<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">a) if he or she can prove that, through no fault of his or her own, he or she missed the deadline for applying for inclusion in the voter registry pursuant to Section 14(8) of the State Election Regulations (LWO) (by August 16, 2026) or the deadline for requesting corrections to the voter registry pursuant to Section 18(1) of the State Election Regulations (LWO) (by August 21, 2026),  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(b) if his right to participate in the election arose only after the application deadlines set forth in \u00a7 14(8) or \u00a7 18(1) of the LWO had expired,  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(c) if his or her right to vote was established during the correction process and the municipality was not made aware of this determination until after the voter registry had been finalized.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Voting ballots may be requested by eligible voters listed in the voter registry by 3:00 p.m. on September 4, 2026, either verbally or in writing, from the municipality.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the event of a verifiable sudden illness that makes it impossible to go to the polling place, or that would involve unreasonable difficulties, the request may still be submitted until 3:00 p.m. on Election Day.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eligible voters who are not registered on the voter roll may apply for a special voting pass for the reasons listed in Section 5.2, letters a through c, until 3:00 p.m. on Election Day.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anyone submitting an application on behalf of another person must provide written proof of authorization to do so. A voter with a disability may enlist the help of another person when submitting the application. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">6. Along with the ballot, the eligible voter receives<\/p>\n\n<ol style=\"list-style-type:lower-alpha\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>an official ballot for the electoral district,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>an official blue ballot envelope,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>an official, light-red ballot envelope bearing the address to which the ballot is to be returned, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An information sheet on voting by mail.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A person may collect a ballot and absentee voting materials on behalf of another person only if the authority to receive the materials is proven by presenting a written power of attorney and the authorized person represents no more than four eligible voters; the authorized person must confirm this in writing to the municipality before receiving the documents. Upon request, the authorized person must present identification. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When voting by mail, the voter must send the ballot envelope\u2014containing the ballot and the voter registration card\u2014to the designated location in time to ensure that it is received there no later than 6:00 p.m. on Election Day.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Within the Federal Republic of Germany, the absentee ballot is mailed free of charge without any special mailing requirements.
