The Army Combat Training Center, as the Army’s central training facility, has its own railroad station through which large equipment such as tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, etc. are delivered for the exercises. Due to extensive repair work on its own railroad tracks and the track bed, it is necessary for combat vehicles to use an alternative station until the construction work is completed.
Various options were examined for this purpose.
The use of a head ramp on the K+S site in Zielitz is the final solution.
In the near future, large vehicles will therefore drive from the training area to the K+S site.
The route will lead from the training area via the A14 highway to the end of the expansion route.
From there, the route will take the B189 federal highway to Farsleber Straße, through Farsleben in the direction of Zielitz.
The route will then bypass the village of Zielitz on Farlsleber Straße in order to reach the main gate of K+S.
The first rail transport is already scheduled for October 4.
14 tanks will then travel from the training area to Zielitz early in the morning.
Colonel Heiko Diehl, Head of the Combat Training Center, invites the citizens of the affected villages (with a focus on Mose, Farsleben and Zielitz) to an information event on 30.09.2024 at 18:00 in the Bergmannssaal Zielitz.
