What is the ADFC Cycling Climate Test?
Your opinion is needed: How is cycling in your area? Do you get through traffic safely and with enough space? What works really well or should definitely be improved?
The ADFC Cycling Climate Test is one of the largest surveys worldwide that aims to find out more about the everyday experiences of cyclists. Participants from all over Germany give feedback on how they experience cycling locally. The questions focus, for example, on safety and comfort when cycling, cycling infrastructure and promotion.
Why is this important?
The data from the survey provides politicians and local authorities with important guidance. They make it possible to draw comparisons with other places, identify their own strengths and potential and thus take targeted measures. By taking part in the survey, cyclists have the opportunity to provide direct feedback to political decision-makers on the bicycle-friendliness of their local area.
When and how can I take part?
Participation in the ADFC Cycling Climate Test 2024 is possible from September 1 to November 30, 2024.

“Coexistence in traffic”: The current focus topic asks questions about mutual consideration, overtaking distances and the space available for cyclists on the road.
Who can I contact if I have any questions?
You can contact your local ADFC or our information center in Berlin: fahrradklimatest@adfc.de
What happens to my answers?
The completed questionnaires will be collected and evaluated on a location-specific basis. The results will be published in spring 2025. At fkt.adfc.de you can compare your town with other towns and cities as well as with the results from previous years and see how it was rated.
The results can be used in many ways: as information for the local press, as a discussion starter for local politicians and with friends and neighbors.
