Election workers wanted

Become a poll worker for the 2025 Bundestag election

The early Bundestag election is expected to take place on Sunday, February 23, 2025. This means it is now high time to recruit polling assistants so that they can be trained in good time before the election.
“Elections are an event of the people. That’s why the electoral boards are made up of the voters themselves. I am very pleased about the many voters who take on this voluntary role at an election and would like to thank all those who repeatedly volunteer to do so. However, we also need new electoral assistants. So please get in touch with us now and declare your willingness to help out in the Bundestag election on February 23.”

We are looking for volunteer electoral assistants who are German citizens on election day, have reached the age of 18, have lived in the Federal Republic of Germany for at least three months before the election or otherwise usually reside there and are not excluded from the right to vote under Section 13 of the Federal Election Act. As part of their work, polling assistants check, for example, the polling card and ID, hand out ballot papers and help count the votes when the polling stations are closed. The work at the polling station and also the work at the postal ballot count is recognized with a refreshment allowance of €25.00 to €35.00, depending on the activity. There are different areas of deployment. The polling stations in the city are open from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm on election day. Counting takes place afterwards. If necessary, shifts can be arranged so that not everyone has to be present all day. The election committees for counting postal votes will meet at 3.00 pm, but will not start counting until 6.00 pm. For all polling assistants, the assignment ends when the count is complete.
