The new farmers’ housing estate in the Wolmirstedt district of Elbeu can look forward to a modern and fully developed road. Thanks to funding from the regional rural development program of the state of Saxony-Anhalt, the project was successfully implemented. The town of Wolmirstedt had applied for and received the maximum amount of 350,000 euros from the funding pot.
As part of the construction work, 1,200 square meters of concrete paving were laid, a 150-meter-long rainwater drain was installed and seven energy-saving LED lights were installed. In addition, old overhead pylons were removed and the telecom lines were laid underground.
Some final work is still outstanding: A total of twelve new trees will be planted, including four ornamental cherries, four sweet cherries and four column hornbeams, which will further embellish the streetscape.
The new road not only significantly improved the infrastructure, but also made an important contribution to the modernization of the Elbeu district.
