New Year’s greetings from the mayor

    Dear people of Wolmirstedt,
    dear fellow citizens,

I would like to use the first few days of the new year to wish you health, happiness and contentment for 2025. In particular, however, I wish you confidence. It is more important than ever these days. We are living in a time that is difficult for many of us and often enough causes uncertainty, helplessness and excessive demands. This not only encourages resentment, envy and selfishness, but unfortunately often also hatred, agitation and violence.
Many people cannot imagine that 2025 can be better. But we have it in our own hands. Because how we, the citizens of Wolmirstedt, treat each other is entirely up to us. Let’s work together to ensure that empathy and cohesion are always stronger than hatred and hatred in our beautiful town. That neighborly help and trust in one another are more important than envy and resentment. That every antagonism becomes togetherness again.

The commitment with which many people work for the common good of our city is exemplary. This includes citizens in social institutions, nursing homes, doctors’ surgeries, schools and daycare centers, public authorities, the fire department, the rescue service and the police – not forgetting the numerous volunteers in sports and many other clubs. My special thanks go to them!

In 2025, let’s let go of everything that is not good for us, let go of what we cannot change and get involved – with life and with each other.

On behalf of the city administration and also personally, I wish you and your families a peaceful and happy 2025.

    Your mayor
    Marlies Cassuhn
