The Elass

The Museum Wolmirstedt invites you to a multimedia lecture by Jörg Bonewitz about Alsace on March 15, 2025 at 7 pm.

In the east of France lies the Alsace region, which is characterized by French and German roots. Alsace has changed nationality four times. Today it is a special European region.

Picturesque half-timbered villages, rolling mountains, hearty sauerkraut dishes and hillsides full of vines – idyllic Alsace is a popular destination for Germans.

Alsatian culture is characterized by a mixture of German and French influences.

This picture tour includes visits to the towns of Colmar, with its cobbled streets characterized by half-timbered houses from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, Strasbourg with its picturesque Petite-France district and Obernai, the legendary birthplace of St. Odile, the patron saint of Alsace.
