Exactly 19 years ago, a terrible accident occurred in Wolmirstedt that shook not only the volunteer fire department,
, but the entire town.
On June 19, 2006, four young members of the local fire department lost their lives on the way to a training exercise.
To mark this sad anniversary, Wolmirstedt’s town fire chief Marcel Tietz, equipment manager Björn Gmell, Mayor Marlies Cassuhn and Frank Schröder, the member of the town council responsible for fire departments, laid flowers at the site of the accident.
This is to commemorate the brave comrades who lost their lives back then. Their memory will be cherished in the hearts of the people of Wolmirstedt. We are grateful for the tireless efforts of these young men in the service of the community.
