All three candidates approved for the election of the mayor
The election for a new full-time mayor will take place in Wolmirstedt on Sunday, September 7, 2025. Three candidates had submitted their applications: Mike Steffens (KWG Börde), Steffen Steinhagen (SPD) and Mathias Knispel (AfD). The election committee of the town of Wolmirstedt has now met and approved all three candidates.
The members of the election committee checked the submitted documents together and checked, for example, whether the documents were complete, properly completed and signed and whether they had been submitted on time. As all three candidates were found to be in order, they were finally officially approved.
The mayoral election will take place on September 7, 2025 from 8 am to 6 pm. A possible run-off election is scheduled for September 21. Mayor Marlies Cassuhn will not be running again, but is retiring.
