Citizens are called upon to participate
The year 2025 has barely begun when the Wolmirstedt town council is already preparing for the ever-popular town festival. This time, the event will take place from June 13 to 15, 2025. A working group, which includes city council employees as well as event professional Wolfgang Buschner and the two city councillors Dirk Hummelt (CDU) and Swen Pazina (CDU), has now met for the first time to make arrangements.
It has already become clear that this year’s town festival will also stick to the tried and tested. Musical performances for young and old, two stages – the open-air stage and a smaller one in front of the museum barn – as well as the participation of carnies with merry-go-rounds and food and drink are also planned for this year’s festival. This year, the Wolmirstedt mixed choir is also celebrating its 120th birthday and would like to mark the occasion with a choir festival as part of the town festival.
While the framework for the event has been set, there is still plenty of room for the program. “Anyone who would like to take part with a cultural contribution, an information stand or something similar is welcome. This applies to clubs, but also to private individuals,” says Lutz Neumann, who is responsible for the organization of the city festival in Wolmirstedt’s city administration. Businesses can also apply with their stalls.
Up-and-coming musicians from Wolmirstedt and the entire region are also invited to present themselves at the town festival. Whether rock bands or pop musicians is irrelevant for the time being – the town will check whether the respective contribution fits into the town festival. Wolmirstedt also wants to give unknown musicians the opportunity to present themselves to a wide audience and provides the technology for the performances.
