Wolmirstedt fire department celebrates its 140th birthday with a big party and parade
The Wolmirstedt volunteer fire department has reached a proud age – it has been around for 140 years. The comrades would like to celebrate this anniversary in style and are inviting everyone to the fire department festival on Saturday, August 16, at the castle domain.
From 10 to 11 a.m., a large parade is planned from the fire station to the castle domain. This will lead from Bauernweg via Geschwister-Scholl-Straße, Gipfelstraße, Triftstraße, Julius-Bremer-Straße and Burgstraße to the castle domain. The fire department festival will follow there from 11 am to 4 pm.
The official opening will take place at 11.15 a.m. with a speech, and a blue light exhibition will open at around 11.30 a.m.. Visitors will be able to view fire department vehicles and equipment, and even inspect some of them from the inside. Demonstrations are also planned for the event: A dog squadron will be performing at 1.30 p.m., at 2.30 p.m. there will be a demonstration by the youth fire department and at 3.30 p.m. one by the emergency services.
Catering will also be provided throughout the day, there will be a bouncy castle for the youngest guests, a rally parcous and much more. So it’s definitely worth a visit.
