Primary school pupils visit the town hall

First and second graders from the “Astrid Lindgren” elementary school in Dahlenwarsleben recently went on a class trip to Wolmirstedt lasting several days. They slept in the BFZ and visited and explored various places in the town.

This also included the city administration. Ines Rakowski, who is responsible for schools, daycare centers and after-school care centers at the town hall, gave the girls and boys, their teachers and accompanying adults a tour of the building. Among other things, the children visited the residents’ registration office, where children’s ID cards are issued as well as ID cards for adults. There was a lot of giggling in the wedding room of the town hall. There, the young guests were allowed to sit on the bench where wedding couples usually sit and get married. Most of the boys sat next to their buddies and the girls next to their girlfriends.

Before the children took a closer look at the large council chamber and were allowed to speak into the microphones that the councillors normally use at their meetings, they also had a look at Mayor Marlies Cassuhn’s office. The tour of the town hall was exciting for the girls and boys and also brought a smile to their faces. Perhaps also because they were allowed to take a small toy and a sweet with them at the end of their visit.
