New doctor opens her practice – city provides financial support
General practitioner Juliane Drewes opened a new GP practice at Farsleber Straße 21 in Wolmirstedt in October 2025. Marko Kohlrausch, Head of Finance at Wolmirstedt City Council, and Julia Schneider from the business development department delivered flowers and congratulations on her first day of work.
The town of Wolmirstedt is particularly pleased that the doctor has chosen a location in the town. Juliane Drewes made this decision not least because the town supports her financially. A city council resolution promised the GP a rent subsidy for the next five years. In total, this amounts to 23,760 euros.
The town of Wolmirstedt has campaigned for this funding primarily to ensure that medical care is maintained for its citizens. Overall, there is an undersupply of GP practices in the Börde district and also in the Wolmirstedt region.
