Glindenberg residents get to work: Newly founded association is active in former daycare center
The former daycare center in the community courtyard in Glindenberg has been empty for many years. Now new life is set to move in, as a new association has been founded by citizens of the Wolmirstedt district who would like to revitalize the village. It is not for nothing that the association has given itself the name “Glindenberger Leben e.V.”.
The founding event has only just taken place and the association members already want to get active. However, their ideas of creating a place for experiences and events, organizing activities such as cooking together and the like, can only be implemented in rooms that are equipped for this purpose. The town of Wolmirstedt would like to support the association in finding suitable premises. A contract for the use of some former daycare rooms is therefore currently being examined.
Nevertheless, the first work assignment has already taken place there. This was accompanied by television on Monday, November 10. Reporter Michael Wasian and his team colleagues from the MDR program “Mitmachen statt Meckern” visited Glindenberg and recorded how many local residents were actively helping out. Old wallpaper was torn off the walls, old floors removed and much more. The Glindenberg residents filled two large containers with old materials. Impressive, as the chairman of the newly founded association, Lars Teichmann, happily confirmed.
The “Mitmachen statt Meckern” series will be broadcast on Tuesday, November 11 as part of the “MDR Sachsen-Anhalt heute” program. The program on MDR television starts at 7 p.m. and can be viewed again later in the media library.
