Advent market is in the starting blocks: Colorful program planned for three days
The Wolmirstedt Advent market traditionally takes place on the first Advent weekend of the year. It’s happening again this year: from Friday, November 28 to Sunday, November 30, 2025, the castle grounds will be filled with Christmas spirit. There will be stalls selling handicrafts, homemade products and treats, as well as fairground rides and a colorful program.
Details of the latter have now been finalized. For example, there will be brass music from the “Sternenbläsern”, who will play on Friday, November 28, at 4.30 pm, before Wolmirstedt’s mayor Marlies Cassuhn officially opens the Advent market at 4.45 pm. The youngest visitors will be more interested in the fact that Santa Claus is coming on this day – he is expected on the stage in front of the Katharinensaal at 5.15 pm.
On Saturday, November 29, the daycare centers “Storchennest”, “Ohrespatzen”, “Pusteblume” and “St. Katharinen” will perform, as well as the Wolmirstedt after-school care center, the OK Live Ensemble, the wind ensemble of the Wolmirstedt music school and the duo “Handgemacht”. On Sunday, November 30, there will also be performances by primary school pupils from the Diesterweg elementary school, the Wolmirstedt mixed choir, the “Kolorit” ensemble from Katharina e.V. and brass music from the “Weinbergmusikanten” Hohenwarthe.
On all three days, there will be additional activities such as handicrafts, a coffee table and a ceramics sale in the community center, and on Friday and Saturday the library will also be open and offer a “Colorful Christmas”.
All the exact times can be found in the flyer on the Wolmirstedt website at www.stadtwolmirstedt. The Advent market is open on Friday from 4 pm to 9 pm, on Saturday from 1 pm to 9 pm and on Sunday from 1 pm to 6 pm.
Attention: The castle grounds will be closed to vehicle traffic from Friday, November 21, for the construction of the Wolmirstedt Advent market. It will not be possible to drive or park there.
