The city’s building yard fills potholes after the harsh winter
The Wolmirstedt municipal building yard always has a lot to do in spring. In addition to preparing flower beds, there is also a lot of work to be done on the roads. For example, the employees are currently filling in potholes that have formed on many roads in the town and its districts as a result of the long and harsh winter.
The removal of potholes is one of the year-round tasks of the building yard employees. A team checks the condition of all traffic facilities at least once a quarter. All damage is recorded – be it potholes, defective traffic signs or others. The damage is then repaired as quickly as possible. After the last winter period, there were many more potholes than usual.
However, the Wolmirstedt municipal works department has long since tackled the problem and is working diligently to repair the last frost damage. Road damage of up to one square meter in size is being filled with bio-asphalt, so-called cold mix. If more extensive damage occurs, individual sections of the road may have to be replaced.
