The city of Wolmirstedt with its districts Elbeu, Farsleben, Glindenberg and Mose is located only a few kilometers north of the state capital Magdeburg between the Magdeburger Börde and Colbitz-Letzlinger Heide and belongs to the district Börde. Today, about 11,700 inhabitants live here in the corner between the rivers Ohre and Elbe. You can reach Wolmirstedt via the nearby A14/A2 freeways and subsequently via the B189 from Magdeburg or Stendal, or by train using the S-Bahn service close to the city.
To strengthen our team in the building yard, we are looking for you as soon as possible for a permanent full-time position as a new colleague for the position of
City worker (m/f/d)
Remuneration is in accordance with TVöD-VKA in pay group 3.
What tasks in particular await you?
- Maintenance and upkeep of city streets, roads and squares;
- Care, maintenance, repair and preservation of basic and work equipment
- If necessary, use or operation of vehicles, machines and equipment for green maintenance;
- Street cleaning, waste bin emptying, market cleaning; winter service;
- Assist with pre- and post-processing (clean-up) of City events.
What should you bring with you?
- As a prerequisite:
- a verifiable professional experience of at least 2 years in the field of gardening and landscaping within the last 6 years (proof by work certificate);
- willingness to work flexible hours and seasonal overtime, e.g. including evenings, weekends (compensation is provided through an annual working time account arrangement);
- A high level of physical ability, teamwork and cooperation skills;
- the willingness and interest in the diverse work of our building yard;
- a versatile technical understanding as well as manual skills and interest;
- Commitment and ability to work independently as directed.
- We wish:
- A team-oriented work ethic;
- that you have the motivation and ability to familiarize yourself with the conditions and requirements on site and to acquire new knowledge and experience;
- the ability to drive motorized chain saws, brush cutters and hedge trimmers;
- Class BE driver’s license and willingness to drive city vehicles if necessary.
