Congratulations on your iron wedding anniversary

Christine and Waldemar Jantos from Wolmirstedt celebrate their iron wedding anniversary

Christine and Waldemar Jantos have been married for 65 years.

The fact that Christine and Waldemar Jantos met at a young age can only be fate. Normally, there is not much chance that a woman who was born in Mecklenburg and a man who was born in Belgium will meet while dancing in their new home in Lower Silesia after their families have moved there. But that was the case with the Jantos couple: Waldemar Jantos played double bass in a dance orchestra and his future wife saw him for the first time when she danced to his music.

They married in 1961. Their sons Waldemar and Robert were born in Poland. Today, the whole family lives in Germany, where they had moved to work. The Jantos have lived in Wolmirstedt for 20 years, their son Robert lives with his wife in the entrance right next door. Christine and Waldemar Jantos’ great pride and joy is their granddaughter Julia, who has settled in Magdeburg – much to the delight of her family – and works at the Magdeburg Theater.

Even after 65 years of marriage, Christine and Waldemar Jantos still joke and laugh together, holding love, trust and family very dear. Wolmirstedt’s mayor Mike Steffens was among the guests who congratulated them on their special iron wedding anniversary. He offered his congratulations and a gift and expressed his hope that the Jantos couple would enjoy many more happy and healthy years together.
