Civil Engineering Clerk (m/f/d)

The city of Wolmirstedt with its districts Elbeu, Farsleben, Glindenberg and Mose is located only a few kilometers north of the state capital Magdeburg between the Magdeburger Börde and Colbitz-Letzlinger Heide and belongs to the district Börde. Today, around 12,300 inhabitants live here in the corner between the Ohre and Elbe rivers. You can reach Wolmirstedt via the nearby A14/A2 freeways and subsequently via the B189 from Magdeburg or Stendal, or by train using the S-Bahn service close to the city.

To strengthen our team in the Construction Department, we are looking for you to join us as soon as possible as a new colleague in a permanent part-time position

Civil Engineering Clerk (m/f/d)

with an average weekly work schedule of 35 hours. Compensation will be in pay grade 9c of the TVöD-VKA, subject to a pending job evaluation.

What tasks in particular await you?

  • Road Construction and Road Administration:
    • Participation in traffic planning, including street lighting;
    • Participation in financial planning and the related budget proposals;
    • Independently drafting requests for proposals for engineering contracts;
    • Independently reviewing contracts and preparing them for order placement;
    • Assistance with the preparation and implementation of technical bidding documents and their submission to the Central Procurement Office;
    • Cooperation with healthcare providers and third parties;
  • Duty to Ensure Traffic Safety – Responsibilities of Road Construction Authorities under the StrG LSA:
    • Independent maintenance of municipal roads;
    • Independent maintenance of street lighting;
  • Collaboration with government agencies, organizations, and institutions;
  • Identification and evaluation of funding programs;
  • Contributing to the drafting of resolution proposals and participating in the specialized committees.

What should you bring with you?

As a prerequisite:

  • A successfully completed degree as a Dipl.-Ing. (FH) / Bachelor (m/f/d) in civil engineering (preferred specializations: civil engineering, road construction, transportation engineering), environmental engineering, water resources management, or structural engineering
  • PC skills in MS-Office and the willingness to familiarize yourself with specialist programs;

  • that you have the motivation and ability to delve deeply into new tasks and subject areas and acquire new knowledge (e.g., legal, construction, and administrative regulations; contractual matters with external partners, etc.);
  • willingness to work flexible hours (including organizing and performing on-call and standby duties);
  • Class B driver’s license.
