Information on Absentee Voting

Absentee ballot materials can only be mailed out until August 28

Due to the ongoing absentee voting period and the remaining mailing times, absentee voting materials can no longer be mailed in time if sent on or after Monday, August 31, 2026.

To ensure that eligible voters receive their absentee ballot materials on time and can return the completed ballots by the deadline, absentee ballot applications received by the city after 12:00 p.m. on August 28, 2026, be made available exclusively for in-person pickup.

This applies regardless of whether the application is submitted electronically, in writing, or by placing it in the town hall’s mailbox.

Of course, you can still pick up your absentee ballot materials in person at City Hall.

To allow voters to cast their ballots by mail even at the last minute, the Town Hall’s office hours will be extended as follows from August 31 through September 4, 2026:

Monday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Tuesday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Wednesday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 and 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
Thursday 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Friday 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM

The city asks all residents who wish to vote by mail and have not yet submitted an application to do so as soon as possible.

If you have any questions about voting by mail or picking up your absentee ballot materials, please contact the election director, Ms. Heynemann, at 039201/64-777 or wahlen@stadtwolmirstedt.de.
