Third construction phase completed: Heinrich-Heine-Straße is partially open to traffic again
Starting Wednesday, August 26, Heinrich-Heine-Straße will be reopened to vehicle traffic and pedestrians between Schwimmbadstraße and Friedrich-Ebert-Straße. This marks the completion of the third phase of the major construction project on Fabrikstraße/Heinrich-Heine-Straße/Lindhorster Weg.
Since September 2025, the entire length of Fabrikstraße, the intersection of Heinrich-Heine-Straße, Schwimmbadstraße, and Fabrikstraße, and now the section of Heinrich-Heine-Straße between Schwimmbadstraße and Friedrich-Ebert-Straße have been completely renovated. Work is also currently underway on the section of Heinrich-Heine-Straße between Friedrich-Ebert-Straße and Samsweger Straße. In a few days, work is also scheduled to begin on renovating the intersection of Heinrich-Heine-Straße and Samsweger Straße, including a section of Lindhorster Weg.
The entire construction project is scheduled to be completed by spring 2027. The city of Wolmirstedt is responsible for the construction of roads and sidewalks as well as for the lighting. Other contractors include WWAZ, which is installing the wastewater, stormwater, and drinking water lines, and the municipal utilities, which are laying the electrical and district heating lines. One-third of the city’s portion of the construction project is funded by federal funds, one-third by state funds, and one-third is covered by the city’s own funds.
