Civil Engineering Clerk

The city of Wolmirstedt with its districts Elbeu, Farsleben, Glindenberg and Mose is located only a few kilometers north of the state capital Magdeburg between the Magdeburger Börde and Colbitz-Letzlinger Heide and belongs to the district Börde. Today, around 12,300 inhabitants live here in the corner between the Ohre and Elbe rivers. You can reach Wolmirstedt via the nearby A14/A2 freeways and subsequently via the B189 from Magdeburg or Stendal, or by train using the S-Bahn service close to the city.

To strengthen our team in the Construction Department, we are looking for you to join us as soon as possible as a new colleague in a permanent part-time position

Civil Engineering Clerk (m/f/d)

with an average weekly work schedule of 35 hours. Compensation will be in pay grade 9c of the TVöD-VKA, subject to a pending job evaluation.

What specific responsibilities can you expect?

  • Road Construction and Maintenance:
    • Participation in traffic planning, including street lighting;
    • Participation in financial planning and the associated budget requests;
    • Independently drafting requests for proposals for engineering contracts;
    • Independently reviewing contracts and preparing them for award;
    • Assisting in the preparation and implementation of technical bidding documents and their submission to the Central Procurement Office;
    • Cooperation with healthcare providers and third parties;
  • Duty to Ensure Traffic Safety – Responsibilities of Road Authorities under the State Road Act (StrG) and the Local Road Act (LSA):
    • Independent management of municipal roads;
    • Independent maintenance of street lighting;
  • Collaboration with government agencies, funding organizations, and institutions;
  • Identifying and evaluating funding programs;
  • Assisting in the preparation of draft resolutions and participating in expert committees.

What should you bring?

Requirements:

  • A successfully completed degree as a Dipl.-Ing. (FH) / Bachelor (m/f/d) in the fields of civil engineering (preferred specialization: civil engineering, road construction, transportation engineering), environmental engineering, water resources management, or structural engineering; or
  • Completed vocational training as a state-certified technician in construction technology with a focus on civil engineering, along with at least 2 years of professional experience;
  • Practical PC skills in MS Office, as well as a willingness to learn how to use subject-specific software;

  • Class B driver’s license.
