Wolmirstedt’s building yard receives new tractor for mowing, gritting and cleaning
The Wolmirstedt building yard has received a new tractor for winter maintenance, mowing and cleaning work. The city purchased it for 52,114 euros and had it adapted precisely to the needs of the building yard. For example, the tractor has hydraulic devices at the front and rear to which various attachments can be fitted – such as a road salt spreader, a snow plough, a sweeping brush, a so-called cutter bar, a collection system for mowed material or even a leaf collection device. The “new addition” to the depot’s fleet has a comfort and safety cab as well as a second rotating beacon and LED lights, which make the vehicle much more visible in the dark or in snowy conditions.
Head of the building yard Martin Holly and his employees are delighted with the purchase of the new tractor, which was urgently needed because the previous vehicle was already getting on in years. The two tractors built in 1992 and 1997 can now go into retirement. The John Deere tractor takes over their work. In particular, Stefan Grieger, Frank Bischoff, Fabian Grunert and Marco Jelitto will be driving the new tractor in future.
Thomas Gromeier (from left) from LVA Landtechnik GmbH came to Wolmirstedt to hand over the John Deere tractor to the town’s building yard. Employees Frank Bischoff, Fabian Grunert, Marco Jelitto and Stefan Grieger not only took delivery of the vehicle, but tried it out straight away. The four building yard employees will also drive the tractor in future.
