Postal voting is now possible directly at the town hall

The first ballot box has now been sealed in Wolmirstedt town hall. Since Monday, February 10, voters have been able to cast their postal vote for the early Bundestag election in person. The first citizens have already made use of this option. The first voter was asked to look in the ballot box. She made sure that the box was empty before it was closed and sealed. Postal voting is still possible at the town hall until Friday, February 21, 3 pm.
A second election notification currently being sent out by the Wolmirstedt municipal administration is causing confusion among some citizens. This is for the Börde district council election, which is due on March 16, 2025. Postal voting documents can already be requested for the district council election, and voters can also drop them in a ballot box at the town hall – but of course in a different one to the one for the Bundestag election.
In order to ensure that citizens can collect postal voting documents or vote directly at the town hall, the following opening hours apply for the electoral office with immediate effect:
Monday: 9 am to 12 noon and 1.30 pm to 4 pm
Tuesday: 9 am to 11.30 am and 1.30 pm to 5.30 pm (as before)
Wednesday: 9 am to 12 noon
Thursday: 9 am to 11.30 am and 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm
Friday: 9 am to 11.30 am (as before)
On Friday, February 21, 2025, in addition to the office hours from 9 a.m. to 11.30 a.m., there will also be additional office hours from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The city administration would like to point out that the extended opening hours are exclusively for the purpose of processing postal votes. They will apply until the Bundestag elections. After that, the city administration will be available again during the usual office hours (Tuesdays 9 to 11.30 a.m. and 1.30 to 5.30 p.m., Thursdays 1.30 to 3.30 p.m., Fridays 9 to 11.30 a.m.).
