Christmas wishes from children and young people

City of Wolmirstedt sets up Christmas wish tree

The town of Wolmirstedt is putting up a Christmas wish tree in the town hall for the first time this year. The idea behind it is to fulfill small Christmas wishes for people who live in the town or its districts and who have no financial or family resources of their own. This year, the Christmas wishes come from children and young people aged 0 to 18, all of whom currently live in three different facilities in Wolmirstedt.

The Christmas wish tree will be adorned with 27 wishes from the Caritas women’s and children’s shelter, the “Nomi Rubel-Haus” housing project run by the Workers’ Welfare Association and the “Houses of our Future” in Wolmirstedt. The procedure for bringing Christmas joy to the children and young people is very simple: citizens and employees of the town hall can pick a Christmas wish from the tree, sign a list at the reception desk of the town hall, get the corresponding gift and hand it back to the reception desk of the town hall wrapped up for Christmas. The only important thing is to attach the wish list to the package so that it is clearly visible.

The Christmas Wishing Tree will be set up and officially opened on November 24. Citizens can pick up their wishes during the usual office hours at the town hall, namely Tuesdays from 9 to 11.30 am and 1.30 to 5.30 pm, Thursdays from 1.30 to 3.30 pm and Fridays from 9 to 11.30 am. The gift packages should be returned to the town hall by December 12 so that they can be handed over to the children and young people in time for Christmas.
