After a marathon consultation process in January and February, the city of Wolmirstedt’s budget for 2026 was finally approved at the most recent city council meeting on February 19. The budget shows a deficit of around 800,000 euros. However, this planned deficit can be offset by an existing ordinary revenue reserve of over 9 million euros from previous years.
During the budget consultation, several applications were discussed and also confirmed, which mainly revolved around funding from the Leader program for the years 2027 and beyond.
All changes will now be incorporated into the final budget. This will then be submitted to the municipal supervisory authority for review. The municipal supervisory authority must issue a statement within four weeks. Once the city’s budget has been confirmed there, it can finally be approved.
