To mark the anniversary of Wolmirstedt Grammar School, the town of Wolmirstedt donates a tree to the school
“The Elector celebrates his birthday”: this was the motto of a big party recently held at the Kurfürst-Joachim-Friedrich-Gymnasium in Wolmirstedt. The occasion was the 30th anniversary of the school. In addition to the pupils and teaching staff, the event was also attended by many invited guests, including the school’s first principal.
Representatives from the town of Wolmirstedt also stopped by to congratulate them. On behalf of Mayor Marlies Cassuhn, Marko Kohlrausch, Head of Finance, presented a special gift. He presented principal Carsten Koslowski with an American amber tree, which is not only climate-resistant, but also produces fruit that serves as food for birds and is non-toxic for the pupils.
As Marko Kohlrausch explained to the principal, the gift from the town also has a symbolic meaning. Like the Kurfürst-Joachim-Friedrich-Gymnasium, the tree should now put down firm roots in Wolmirstedt, and together the plant and the institution should continue to grow, flourish and endure.
The town of Wolmirstedt wishes all the best for the school’s birthday!
