The Wolmirstedt town festival will take place this year from Friday, June 13 to Sunday, June 15, 2025. In recent years, it has become a tradition for the event to begin on Fridays with the Ohrelauf. This time, too, the athletes will open the festival.
Under the motto “Every kilometer helps”, donations are to be collected through running, which will ultimately benefit a good cause. This year, Torsten Römer from Mecklenburgische Versicherung and his wife Verena, who are organizing the Ohrelauf, announced that they would be supporting the “Blaue Nasen” association. Some companies that have already taken part in previous years have already registered again. They are now hoping for more companies and private individuals who would like to donate one euro per kilometer run.
If you can’t find a running team to support, you can also donate money to the “Blue Noses” themselves, who will be on site with an information stand on the day.
The Ohrelauf will take place on Friday, June 13, from 4.30 pm. The “Bambinis”, i.e. children up to the age of 7, start first at 4.45 pm. They run a distance of 300 meters. Pupils from 8 to 14 years of age start at 5 p.m. and run 1.3 kilometers. The adults, who run around 2.5 kilometers, start at 5.45 pm.
The Ohrelauf is a relay race. It is run in teams of four – so each of the distances mentioned is completed four times. Complete teams can register, but also individual starters, who will then be grouped into teams. If you would like to take part, please contact Torsten Römer at Mecklenburgische Versicherung Torsten Römer at Friedensstraße 11. Registration is also possible at info.torsten.roemer@mecklenburgische.com or via Instagram at www.instagram.com/torsten.roemer or www.instagram.com/ohrelauf.

In addition to the donations that can be given per kilometer for the Ohrelauf, there is also a registration fee for relay teams with participants aged 15 and over. This is also donated to a good cause. Participation is free for schoolchildren and children.
Those who have exerted themselves athletically should also be allowed to celebrate afterwards. That’s why the town of Wolmirstedt is hosting a party with live music on the castle grounds on the evening of June 13. It starts at 8 pm and is also open to the public.
