City festival Wolmirstedt

Wolmirstedt town festival is in the starting blocks – showmen are setting up

The countdown is on: On Friday, June 13, 2025, the town of Wolmirstedt’s annual town festival will kick off on the castle grounds. Showman René Wesemann and his team are already in full swing. On Wednesday, they set up the rides. These include a bumper car, a Ferris wheel and the so-called “Beat Box” – a ride that swings high into the air like a flying carpet.

The town of Wolmirstedt has also commissioned René Wesemann to cater for the visitors. “There will be langos, bratwurst, crepes, ice cream, candy floss, burgers, lard cake, a barbecue pavilion with meat loaf, steaks and much more – there’s something for everyone,” the showman looks ahead. The castle grounds will thus become a veritable entertainment mile for three days.

Once again this year, the program of the town festival, which the town of Wolmirstedt has put together for the townspeople and out-of-town guests, will provide entertainment. Highlights will include performances by the “Randfichten”, the “Geschwister David”, the band “Smokiestyle” and the drum performance artists from “Red Attack”. Local stars will also be performing, including the OK Live Ensemble, the big band from the district music school, as well as nursery and primary school groups.

Trying out for the city festival. The first rides are up and running.

The city festival opens on Friday, June 13, at 4:30 p.m. with the Ohrelauf. It lasts until Sunday, June 15. For the first time this year, there will be a town bet in which the Wolmirstedt youth fire department will compete against the town councillors. There will also be a town rally for children between the ages of 3 and 12 again this year, and a children’s party is also planned in the castle garden. More details can be found in the program flyer.

By the way: The showmen will open their rides on Friday, June 13, and Saturday, June 14, from 2 to 9 pm. On Sunday, June 15, they will be open to visitors from 11 am to 6 pm.
