Schwimmbadstraße will be fully closed from November 3, 2025
A major road construction project is currently underway in Wolmirstedt. Fabrikstraße, Heinrich-Heine-Straße and a section of Lindhorster Weg are being extensively renovated. Work has been underway on Fabrikstraße since the beginning of September. Now the second construction phase is to begin: The junction of Fabrikstraße/Schwimmbadstraße/Heinrich-Heine-Straße.
The intersection will be fully closed from Monday, November 3, 2025, until April 30, 2026. A detour will be signposted.
One third of the construction project is being funded by the federal government and one third by the state, with the city contributing one third of the costs itself.
When this construction phase is completed, three more will follow:
- Heinrich-Heine-Straße from Schwimmbadstraße up to and including Friedrich-Ebert-Straße
- Heinrich-Heine-Straße from Friedrich-Ebert-Straße to Samsweger Straße
- Heinrich-Heine-Straße/Samsweger Straße intersection with Lindhorster Weg section
The entire construction project is scheduled to last until spring 2027. The city of Wolmirstedt is responsible for the road and sidewalk construction as well as the lighting. Other contractors are the WWAZ, which is constructing the wastewater pipes, rainwater pipes and drinking water pipes, and the municipal utilities, which are laying the electrical cables and district heating pipes. One third of the municipal part of the construction project is being funded by the federal government and one third by the state, while the city is contributing one third of the costs itself.
