“The love life of birds” – author reading

Bestselling author Ernst Paul Dörfler presents his new book.

On March 13, 2025 at 5 p.m., natural scientist and author Ernst Paul Dörfler will tell stories from the private lives of our dearest neighbors from his new book “The Love Life of Birds”. Under the motto “Laugh and learn”, he takes his audience on a journey into the colorful world of bird relationships. From the blackbird to the wren, he takes a closer look at our native birds and discovers astonishing parallels in character and behavior between birds and humans.

There are faithful and unfaithful candidates, there are impostors and artistic natures, freeloaders and very peaceful birds. There is also considerable diversity when it comes to relationships. We hear about long-term relationships, seasonal marriages, quarrelsome couples, emancipated females, sham females and feminists among the males. Harem models, long-distance relationships and role reversals between the sexes round off the spectrum.
