The city of Wolmirstedt with its districts Elbeu, Farsleben, Glindenberg and Mose is located only a few kilometers north of the state capital Magdeburg between the Magdeburger Börde and Colbitz-Letzlinger Heide and belongs to the district Börde. Today, about 11,700 inhabitants live here in the corner between the rivers Ohre and Elbe. You can reach Wolmirstedt via the nearby A14/A2 freeways and subsequently via the B189 from Magdeburg or Stendal, or by train using the S-Bahn service close to the city.
To strengthen our management team, we are looking for you to join the Youth, Culture, Sport and Social Affairs department as a new colleague for the permanent full-time position at the earliest possible date
Head of Youth/Culture/Sport/Social Affairs (m/f/d)
with an average weekly working time of 39 hours. Remuneration will be paid in accordance with TVöD-VKA in pay group 10, subject to proven qualifications.
The area of responsibility includes the following activities in particular:
- Management of the specialist service
- Definition of principles, guidelines and instructions for the processing of tasks in the Youth/Culture/Sport/Social Affairs department
- Participation in personnel matters of the specialist service
- Development of the organizational plan and preparation of the budget for the specialist service
- Subsidies
- Preparation, processing and application for funding in the specialist department
- Reviewing the use of subsidies, coordinating with funding providers and drawing down funds
- City marketing / tourism
- Design of strategic concepts
- Organization and implementation of events
- Representation of municipal interests in commercial enterprises with municipal participation
- Securing the city of Wolmirstedt’s participation in third-party festivals
- Drafting contracts and conducting negotiations
- Responsible for the subordinate institutions
- School/daycare centers
- Library, sports facilities, clubs, youth work
- Participation in specialist committees, council meetings, the main committee and advisory boards
- On-call duty of the town of Wolmirstedt for emergency response
What should you bring with you?
- As a prerequisite:
- Completed studies (Diploma (FH), Bachelor) as an administrative specialist, administrative economist, completed employee training course II;
- several years of professional experience in the cultural sector;
- structured and independent way of working;
- a high degree of responsibility, decisiveness and good organizational skills;
- ready-to-use knowledge of MS Office and a willingness to familiarize yourself with new specialist applications.
- We wish:
- A team-oriented, cooperative work style with strong communication skills, solution orientation, organizational skills and reliability;
- comprehensive knowledge of educational and cultural life in the town of Wolmirstedt as well as voluntary work;
- ready to use MS-Office knowledge;
- A Class B driver’s license and a willingness to drive a company vehicle.
