2. general information
In accordance with the circular issued by the Ministry of Education, all children who reach the age of 6 by June 30, 2023, are required to attend school from the beginning of the following school year and must be enrolled in the public elementary school responsible for them by March 1, 2022.
Children who will turn 5 by June 30, 2023, are eligible to enroll. Registration forms should be obtained from the appropriate public elementary school.
Legal guardians whose children were deferred in the previous year can also request the registration documents from the relevant public elementary school.
If a child is to attend an elementary school that is located outside the defined catchment area of the public elementary school that is responsible according to the child’s main place of residence, the child’s legal guardians shall submit an application for an exception.
The application must be sent to the elementary school originally responsible according to the catchment area. The application can be obtained from the relevant elementary school.
Applications for enrollment outside of the defined catchment area are decided upon by the State Education Authority after a justified application has been submitted by the legal guardians.
3. registration
Due to the current coronal situation, no registration dates can be offered at the elementary school “Adolph Diesterweg” and at the elementary school “Johannes Gutenberg”.
Elementary school principals will provide custodial parents with 2023/2024 enrollment application materials and other information by mail.
