Job advertisement Head of Construction (m/f/d)

    The city of Wolmirstedt with its districts Elbeu, Farsleben, Glindenberg and Mose is located only a few kilometers north of the state capital Magdeburg between the Magdeburger Börde and Colbitz-Letzlinger Heide and belongs to the district Börde. Today, about 11,700 inhabitants live here in the corner between the rivers Ohre and Elbe. You can reach Wolmirstedt via the nearby A14/A2 freeways and subsequently via the B189 from Magdeburg or Stendal, or by train using the S-Bahn service close to the city.

    To strengthen our management team, we are looking for you as a new colleague for the permanent full-time position in the Construction department at the earliest possible date

    Head of Construction (m/f/d)

    with an average weekly working time of 39 hours. Remuneration will be paid in accordance with TVöD-VKA if qualifications are proven.
    TVöD-VKA in pay group 12.

    What tasks in particular await you?

    • Head of the building department (comparable to the building authority) incl.
      Personnel and budget responsibility with the following specialist areas: Building construction, civil engineering, urban planning and urban redevelopment, building management and energy management;
    • Personnel management and leadership of the team in the specialist service
    • Organizational responsibility for task completion and work processes in the specialist service
    • Control and management of work in relation to the specialist areas of the department
    • Management and control of service provision, budget compliance and budget responsibility within the framework of the budget for the specialist service
    • Other tasks include
      • Ensuring the preparation of and input from the specialist service for public tenders by the Central Procurement Office of the City of Wolmirstedt;
      • Ensuring the provision of input from the specialist service for the preparation of funding applications by the responsible self-service funding department;
      • Managing the preparation of meeting documents, draft resolutions and concepts on the topics of the specialist service and for the city’s committees;
      • Participation in committee meetings, city council meetings, official meetings of the department heads;
      • Advising the house management on construction projects in the town of Wolmirstedt and its districts;
      • Budget planning for the specialist service;
      • Participation in the on-call service.

    What should you bring with you?

    • As a prerequisite:
      • a recognized university degree (diploma or master’s degree) in civil engineering as a civil engineer specializing in structural engineering or architecture or comparable; alternatively: a degree as an administrative specialist or administrative economist or a completed employee training course II in combination with several years of proven professional experience in the management of a building office/specialist building service;
      • Several years of professional experience in managing teams (e.g. also management of an engineering office or larger project groups or a building authority or similar);
      • Several years of professional experience in the application of current building and legal regulations in construction as well as HOAI;
      • Several years of professional experience in the organization and implementation of construction projects;
      • ready-to-use knowledge of MS Office and a willingness to familiarize yourself with new specialist applications;
      • the willingness to familiarize yourself with administrative regulations, such as budgetary law, service instructions, service agreements, etc., and to ensure compliance with them;
      • A Class B driver’s license and a willingness to drive a company vehicle.
    • We wish:

      • specialist knowledge of municipal budget law – can be acquired;
      • Work experience and knowledge in commercial or financial field;
      • Strong understanding of business management requirements;
