Job advertisement Head of Finance (m/f/d)

    The city of Wolmirstedt with its districts Elbeu, Farsleben, Glindenberg and Mose is located only a few kilometers north of the state capital Magdeburg between the Magdeburger Börde and Colbitz-Letzlinger Heide and belongs to the district Börde. Today, about 11,700 inhabitants live here in the corner between the rivers Ohre and Elbe. You can reach Wolmirstedt via the nearby A14/A2 freeways and subsequently via the B189 from Magdeburg or Stendal, or by train using the S-Bahn service close to the city.

    To strengthen our team, we are looking for you as soon as possible for a permanent full-time position as a new colleague for a permanent position as

    Head of Finance (m/f/d)

    with an average weekly working time of 39 hours. Remuneration is in accordance with TVöD-VKA in pay group 11.

    What tasks in particular await you?

    • Personnel and technical management of the work areas of the specialist service:

      • Accounting (business accounting, financial accounting, asset accounting);

      • City treasury;

      • Taxes;

      • Enforcement;

      • Participation, cost-performance accounting;

      • Real estate;

      • Subsidies;

      • Calculation;

      • Budgetary matters;

    • Specialist tasks:

      • Coordination of the personnel deployment plan and assignment of tasks;

      • Preparation of the budget;

      • Preparation of balance sheets and annual financial statements;

      • Statement of financial statistics;

      • Monitoring budget management in the current year;

      • Examination and control of fundamental issues in the specialist service, final assessment of difficult individual cases;

      • Liquidity planning;

      • Borrowings;

      • Monitoring of daily and monthly financial statements;

      • Preparation of tax returns as part of the implementation of §2b UstG;

      • Financial coordination for special tasks;

      • Preparation of draft resolutions for the political bodies;

      • Participation in meetings of political bodies;

      • Conducting employee appraisals;

      • Coordination of interdisciplinary tasks within the company.

    What should you bring with you?

    • Prerequisite:

      • a university degree (Diplom, Master’s, Bachelor’s) or a degree in public administration, business administration (FH) or a comparable qualification;

      • Several years of experience in leading teams with a cooperative management style, strong communication skills and negotiation skills;

      • in-depth specialist knowledge in at least one of the areas of work mentioned;

      • Knowledge in the use of MS Office;

      • the willingness to familiarize yourself with laws, regulations, etc. as well as unfamiliar structures, processes and IT systems;

      • a class B driver’s license and the willingness to drive a company car.

    • desirable:

      • Specialist knowledge of the Municipal Constitution Act, New Municipal Accounting System (NKR), Municipal Treasury Ordinance (GemKVO LSA), Municipal Budget Ordinance (KomHVO LSA), Municipal Code (GO LSA), Municipal Budget Ordinance (GemHVO LSA), specialist knowledge of tax law as well as comprehensive knowledge of the preparation of annual financial statements, accounting/double-entry bookkeeping, Municipal Budget Law LSA, circulars on budget management, instructions and ordinances;

      • a high sense of responsibility, high resilience, flexibility, commitment and reliability;

      • structured and independent way of working;

      • confident and fluent in written and spoken language.
