Press release 85/25:
Two Wolmirstedt playgrounds to be equipped with new play equipment
The playground on Wacholderweg in Wolmirstedt has been given a new play tower combination. Old play equipment, such as a wooden climbing frame, had previously been dismantled as it was getting on in years and had mostly suffered weather damage.
The city has therefore now opted for play equipment made from a more durable material. The colorful play tower combination combines swings, a climbing wall, a dangling track, a slide, various climbing options and more. It was set up a few days ago, but will not be released until later this week (50th calendar week), as the playground still needs to be properly filled with new sand first.
The new playground equipment and its construction together cost around 16,000 euros. The town of Wolmirstedt plans to continue investing in the Wacholderweg playground in the coming years. In 2026, for example, a spring animal is to be installed.
The playground on Falkenstraße in Elbeu has also been expanded with a new piece of equipment: a table tennis table. The town of Wolmirstedt invested around 5,000 euros in the table and its construction.
The playgrounds in Wolmirstedt and its districts are regularly cleaned and maintained. On the other hand, they are checked for damage at regular intervals and this damage is then repaired.
