Playground at the Amtstor closed

The town of Wolmirstedt has closed the playground at the Amtstor/an der Amtsbrücke until further notice. Employees of the building yard and the public order office first noticed a broken branch – a so-called stem – on a willow. On closer inspection, the responsible colleague from the public order office noticed mushroom fruiting bodies and dead wood in the willow. The situation was similar on a willow behind it. A specialist company was therefore commissioned to provide an expert assessment of the situation. The specialist company will be able to take care of the job in the week of July 28. Until then, the playground at the Amtstor must remain closed. How long this closure will remain in place will not be known until the company has started work.

As the city council itself cannot assess whether the trees are infested with a pest and as, in addition to the branch that has already broken off, other branches could break off the trees and fall at any time, it is strictly forbidden to enter the playground because it is life-threatening. Unfortunately, parts of the barriers have already been torn down by members of the public. They will be reinstalled by the building yard. Citizens are urgently warned not to bypass the barriers and enter the area – the town of Wolmirstedt does not close off areas carelessly, but for good reasons.
