Program for the 2025 city festival is set

Supporting program for the Wolmirstedt City Festival 2025 is set – clubs are cordially invited to participate

The date for this year’s city festival in Wolmirstedt is fast approaching. The planning is almost complete and all contracts for the cultural supporting program have been signed. The event, which will take place from June 13 to 15, 2025, begins on Friday with the Ohrelauf.

Mayor Marlies Cassuhn will open the town festival on June 13 at 4.45 p.m., immediately followed by the youngest participants in the Ohrelauf – the Bambinis – with their relay races. Then it’s the turn of the older children and the adult runners. The first evening of the town festival ends with a performance by the band “Smokiestyle” on the small stage in front of the museum barn, which is scheduled to last until midnight.

On Saturday, June 14, the Wolmirstedt town festival starts at 2 pm. There will then be performances on the small stage by local artists and children’s groups – for example from the “Johannes Gutenberg” elementary school or the “Pusteblume” daycare center. The OK-Live Ensemble will also be performing on the open-air stage. A highlight for many Schlager fans will be the performance of the “Geschwister David” in the afternoon. In the evening, the band “Zeitlos” will play in the museum barn.

On Sunday, June 15, the city festival will begin at 1 pm. There will once again be local performances on the small stage, for example from the Adolph-Diesterweg elementary school and the Börde district music school. The open-air stage will be dominated by a new idea on this day. Instead of a “battle of the clubs”, this year’s program includes a town bet. The Wolmirstedt youth fire department will be competing against the town councillors. Everyone involved will only find out exactly what the bet is and what the stake will be on the Sunday in question at 11 am. They then have the whole day to win the bet. The bet is to be redeemed at 5 pm.

The stars of the day will be “De Randfichten”, who will be performing on the open-air stage from 4.45 pm and are sure to play their well-known hit “Lebt denn dr alte Holzmichl noch?”. A highlight of the local culture will be the performance of the big band “Starnotes”. It is made up of members of the former Kali Ensemble, which is very popular in Wolmirstedt and the region, and will be performing on the open-air stage on Sunday between 11 am and 1 pm.

As usual, the town festival will be rounded off with stalls offering various food and drink, fairground rides and the participation of institutions and clubs. On Saturday and Sunday, the “Kulturverein Wolmirstedt Bürgerhaus” will organize a children’s festival, and there will also be a town rally with various stations for the youngest guests. The town of Wolmirstedt is urging associations to take part in the town festival. For example, non-profit groups can become part of the rally or simply present themselves at stands with information material or small activities. No stand fees are charged for this. If you would like to take part, please contact stadtfest@stadtwolmirstedt.de.

The town of Wolmirstedt always pays particular attention to the security concept for the town festival. Following the events of the past few months, this concept was revised once again. External partners such as the police and other security experts were also consulted. The security concept is currently being reviewed by the regulatory authorities. The town of Wolmirstedt will take all necessary precautions to make the town festival as safe as possible for all visitors. However, the open character of the event should not be lost. This means that there will continue to be no admission charge for the festival, there will be no admission controls and all previously known entrances and exits to the festival grounds will remain in place. However, vehicle access routes will be closed and only opened if absolutely necessary, for example for emergency operations.
