Mike Steffens was elected as the new mayor of Wolmirstedt with 54.38 percent of the vote.
The mayoral election in Wolmirstedt is over. There is a clear result, according to which Mike Steffens (KWG Börde) is the winner of the election and thus the new mayor of the town of Wolmirstedt from December 6. The official term of office of Mayor Marlies Cassuhn, who did not stand for re-election, will then come to an end.
Mike Steffens prevailed against his two competitors with 54.38% of the vote. However, the result is provisional until the election committee officially confirms it. This will meet on Monday, September 8, from 2 p.m. in the council chamber of the town hall.
The voter turnout was 56.57 percent. The city administration would like to thank all citizens who voted. In particular, an above-average number of voters took advantage of the postal voting option in this election.
