Spring cleaning in Wolmirstedt

Over 80 Wolmirsted residents clean up the town

The city of Wolmirstedt’s spring cleaning campaign entitled “Wolmirstedt cleans up – join in!” was extremely successful. More than 80 citizens, active members and members of the children’s and youth sections of the Wolmirstedt fire department, young scouts from the “Royal Rangers Wolmirstedt” and employees of the town council collected around 70 bags of garbage, which were immediately removed by the town’s building yard.

For example, the Ohrepromenade, the Straße der Deutschen Einheit and the city park were cleared of garbage. Other helpers, including the Johannes Gutenberg elementary school, also took part in the campaign and cleaned their own grounds, for example. Cleaning campaigns are also taking place in the districts of Wolmirstedt these days.

Wolmirstedt’s mayor Mike Steffens was impressed by the commitment of the participants. “I would like to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for their commitment. You all pitched in today and made an important contribution to our participatory town of Wolmirstedt,” he said.
