December 17, 2025 – The DRK-Kreisverband Börde e.V. is responding to the ongoing tense situation in the used clothing market and is dismantling the last of its own used clothing containers at public locations in the district. In future, only the collection facilities directly at the DRK clothing stores in Haldensleben, Wolmirstedt, Oschersleben and Gröningen will remain.
The aim of this measure is to provide the clothing stores with clothing in good condition and to ensure that it is passed on to people in difficult circumstances in line with their needs. The DRK Börde district association therefore asks the public to only hand in donations directly to the clothing stores during the respective opening hours.
Clean, dry and undamaged clothing, shoes tied together in pairs as well as bed linen and towels in normal household quantities are accepted. Comforters and pillows can generally no longer be accepted, with the exception of expressly marked down or feather comforters.
Background to the decision: For months, there has been a massive backlog of non-recyclable used clothing throughout Germany. Collection and recycling systems in the Börde district are also increasingly reaching their limits. Containers fill up within a very short time, storage capacities are exhausted and they are increasingly being misused to dispose of waste or heavily soiled textiles.
The DRK-Kreisverband Börde e.V. would like to express its gratitude for the continued willingness to donate and asks for your understanding for this necessary change.

- Haldensleben clothing store: Monday: 10 am – 2 pm, Wednesday: 10 am – 2 pm, Friday: 10 am – 1 pm (closed on public holidays from 22.12.2025 – 02.01.2026)
- Wolmirstedt clothing store: Monday: 10 am – 2 pm, Wednesday: 10 am – 2 pm, Friday: 10 am – 1 pm (closed from 22.12.2025 – 02.01.2026 due to public holidays)
- Oschersleben clothing store: Monday: 09:30-12, Tuesday: 09:30-12, Wednesday: 09:30-12 (closed from 22.12.2025-02.01.2026 due to public holidays)
- Gröningen clothing store: Monday 13-16, Thursday 09-12 (closed from 22.12.2025-09.01.2026 due to public holidays)
